Pro-Con Formative Assessment
Summary: During the year 1973 when the Supreme court case Roe v. Wade ruled that women have the right to to an abortion for the first 6 months of pregnancy. The court asserted that abortion is a fundamental right under the U.S Constitution and prohibiting abortion would violate the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. When considering to obtain an abortion, it's important that a woman make a well-informed decision. There are many reasons why women decide to to have abortions. For example, having a baby would dramatically change her life, they can't afford a baby, having a baby would interfere with their education, work, etc. and much, much more.
Proposition: I feel that abortion should be illegal to only women who know they can afford to have baby. It isn't right to just end a life, or a upcoming newborn because you feel like it. I feel that abortion should only be given to women who know that they aren't ready to have a baby because they can't afford one or if they're just not ready to have a child because it'll interfere with school and such. If they're a teen and they're thinking of abortion, they should go for it because they're too young to have a child and how do you expect them to take care of a baby if they can't even take care of themselves? But once they go through the procedure, they should be taken into counseling or something so that they know better not to make the same mistake again
