The Pidgin Language
Long ago in the 1800's, the sugar plantations were established and thousands of laborers from all different countries to Hawaii to work and see a better life. They all spoke different languages so it was difficult to communicate with each other. A common language was needed and that's when the Pidgin language developed.
At first, they all communicated using the Hawaiian and Pidgin Hawaiian language. Later in the century, a new variety of pidgin began to develop. Families began to arrive and have children and they learned their parents' language which was Hawaiian or Pidgin Hawaiian, then the children learned English at school. Soon after, the children were influenced by the Pidgin English. It was the Hawaiian language learned from their parents and the English learned at school. By the turn of the century, a new Pidgin began to emerge. This Pidgin became he primary language of many who grew up in Hawaii.
Today, Pidgin has evolved into becoming the unofficial language of Hawaii. The pidgin that we used today is corrupt and can be incomprehensible to the untrained ear. Pidgin is, above all, not a native language, but still kept alive by new hip words.

You can also include that the people would use the Pidgin Language to hide clues so that the Americans couldn't understand what the people in Hawaii are talking about.

By doing this you can help people who read your essay understand how they got the words by combining english with pidgin. You can also put how it is used today in society and maybe add your opinion on how you think pidgin affects others.
